September 29, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10400 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 1:50 a.m. on Saturday (September 27).  

The male victim, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer T. Branford reported:  

The victim was attempting to push his stalled vehicle, a white Honda Odessey van, off the Eastex freeway.  The man and his vehicle were then struck by a yellow Toyota Cienna minivan traveling northbound on the freeway.  The driver of the Toyota, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
