Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 3000 North State Highway 6

September 23, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3000 North State Highway 6 about 7:05 p.m. on Monday (September 22).  

The female victim, 34, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer C. Tosso reported:  

The victim was driving a gray Audi TT southbound on North State Highway 6 and attempted to make a U-turn just before the intersection of Patterson.  The driver failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic and was struck by a tan Kia Sedona traveling northbound on Highway 6.  A silver Ford Focus, also traveling northbound, struck the Kia and the Audi.  The driver of the Audi was transported to the hospital where she died.  The driver of the Kia was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with broken bones.  The female driver of the Ford Focus was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in stable condition.  

No charges are expected to be filed at this time.  

The investigation is continuing.
