September 16, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 1300 Texas Avenue about 8:45 a.m. today (Sept. 16).

The identity of the victim, 24, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer L. Bailey and Officer V. McLean reported:

Houston police officers responded to a report of a loud noise and a male who was lying motionless on the third floor rooftop of the above address. Further investigation revealed the victim had jumped from a higher level of the exterior of the building. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. At this time, foul play is not believed to have been a factor in his death.
