September 10, 2014 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects wanted in at least three robberies of spas in the southwest Houston area in April 2014.
The suspects are described only as two Hispanic males in their early 20s. One suspect is about 6 feet tall, with a skinny build. He has a medium complexion, dark brown eyes and black hair. He wore a black cap and a black hoodie. A composite sketch and a surveillance photo of this suspect are attached to this news release.
The suspects are believed responsible for robberies at the following locations:
- 6420 Hillcroft #404 - JJB Spa about 3:30 p.m. on April 5
- 6601 Hillcroft - Illusion Body Spa about 4:50 p.m. on April 5 (attempted robbery)
- 6420 Hillcroft #404 - JJB Spa about 6:50 p.m. on April 5
- 6601 Hillcroft - Illusion Body Spa about 4:15 p.m. on April 19
In the first incident, one of the suspects entered the JJB Spa and spoke to a female employee regarding services. The employee gave a price and the suspect then walked out, only to return a few minutes later with a second male suspect. The males robbed the business at gunpoint and then ordered the employee to go to a back room. Believing she was about to be sexually assaulted, the employee managed to convince the suspects to leave the business.
About one hour later, the suspects then drove two blocks to 6601 Hillcroft and attempted to rob the Illusions Spa, but were unsuccessful. The suspects then returned to the JJB Spa location and approached a female who was closing the business. At gunpoint, the suspects stole the female's purse and fled the scene to a nearby apartment complex.
On April 19, one of the suspects returned to the Illusions Spa posing as a customer. He inquired about services and then asked for the restroom key. The suspect left the location and returned, armed with a pistol. The suspect then robbed the location and fled the scene.
Investigators believe the same suspects are responsible for all four incidents.
