September 3, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8500 Neff about 7:40 a.m. today (September 3).  

The female victim, 60, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. George and Officer J. Perrotte reported:  

The driver of a white Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on Neff and struck the victim, who was crossing the street.  Further investigation determined the victim did not cross the street at a crosswalk and failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle.  The driver of the Expedition was not impaired, and was questioned and released at the scene.  

No charges will be filed in the accident.
