October 14, 2014 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 15135 Old Humble Road about 10 p.m. on September 14.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male with a dark mustache. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants and white/black Jordan brand basketball shoes. The victim, Gerardo Hernandez, 26, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Hassig and Officer T. Ferguson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to the above address regarding a male (Hernandez) lying in the parking lot. Hernandez was found unresponsive, suffering from gunshot wounds. HFD paramedics then transported him to the hospital.
Further investigation and surveillance video from the scene determined the suspect got into the passenger side of Hernandez's vehicle about 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 14. Several minutes later, a black four-door vehicle of unknown make or model pulled up to the rear of the above address, where Hernandez was shot. The vehicle then fled the location westbound on the service road of the North Sam Houston Parkway toward U.S. Highway 59.
