November 19, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3100 Gillespie about 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday (November 18).  

The victim, Derrick Beasley, 48, was transported to an area hospital where was pronounced dead.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Officer S. Overstreet reported:  

Mr. Beasley and a male suspect were in the suspect's apartment and got into an argument.  At some point, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Bealsey.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported Beasley to the hospital.  The suspect was detained at the scene by responding HPD patrol officers.  

The investigation is continuing.
