November 10, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday (November 8).  

The female victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:  

The driver of a gray Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on the North Freeway service road when the victim suddenly ran across the service road, not at a crosswalk.  The victim was struck by the vehicle and then transported to an area hospital.  

The driver was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released without charges.
