May 27, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 8700 Bellaire Boulevard about 5:55 a.m. on Feb. 15.
The suspect, Christian Villaycana (H/m, 20), is charged with failure to stop and render aid/accident involving death in the 178th State District Court. He is accused in the death of Mario Tecu Pangan, 25, of Houston.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer E. Morgado reported:
Mr. Pangan, a pedestrian, was crossing Bellaire Boulevard, not at a crosswalk, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
Debris at the scene indicated the wanted vehicle was likely a Honda Accord with a white front bumper.
Acting on a Crime Stoppers tip, further investigation identified Villaycana as the suspect in this case. Villaycana, who is currently in custody in the Harris County jail on an unrelated charge, admitted to his involvement in the accident and was subsequently charged.
