May 27, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3300 Dixie Road about 2:30 a.m. last Saturday (May 24).

The identity of the female victim, 31, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer Y. Haq reported:

The victim, driving a blue Nissan Maxima, had parked her vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway and then got of the car.  The driver of a white Buick LeSabre traveling east on Dixie Road struck the back of the Nissan.  The Nissan rolled forward and struck the female as she was attempting to walk across the road to a strip shopping center.  The female was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the Buick, who did not show any signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.

No charges have been filed as the investigation is continuing.
