May 19, 2014 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a male found in a bayou at 8100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate 45) about 12:20 p.m. on Sunday (May 18).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers M. Coleman and T. Tyler reported:

A witness was visiting with friends near Sims Bayou at the above address when they saw what they believed to be a body floating in the middle of the bayou.  The witness then called HPD.  Officers arrived and, with the assistance of Houston Fire Department personnel, were able to pull the victim's body from the water.  

There were no visible injuries to the victim and the investigation is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
