May 12, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 6060 Belarbor about 12:30 p.m. last Wednesday (May 7).
The suspect, Louis Dante Anthony IV (b/m, 18), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Demarcus Harrison, 20, who died at the scene. A second male, Carldric Parker, 23, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to survive his wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. French and Officer D. Fontenot reported:
Mr. Harrison and Anthony were involved in a fight with several other males. At some point during the fight, the suspect produced a pistol and fired several shots. Harrison was struck by the gunfire and died at the scene. Mr. Parker suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Anthony then fled the scene.
Further investigation identified Anthony as the suspect in this case. He turned himself in to police last Friday (May 9) and has admitted to his role in the shooting.
