Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 6400 Southwest Freeway
June 23, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at 6400 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (June 22).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer K. Hines reported:
The male victim, a pedestrian, attempted to run across the northbound main lanes of the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft when he was struck by a black or dark colored vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene.
