June 4, 2014 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 13307 Orleans about 11 p.m. on May 27.

The suspect, Raymond Howard Payne (w/m, 50), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his son, Jarrod Payne, 26, of the above address. A photo of suspect Raymond Payne is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Senior Police Officer J. Villareal reported:

Officers responded to a report of a suicide and found the victim deceased from a gunshot wound. Further investigation led to the identification of the father as a suspect in this case and, on May 29, Raymond Payne was arrested without incident.
