July 30, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 5600 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 11:30 a.m. today (July 30).

The female victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer K. Heaverlo reported:

The driver of a white Toyota Tundra pickup truck, traveling northbound on the North Freeway, exited at Parker Road.  The victim was struck by the pickup truck at the bottom of the exit ramp as she ran westbound across the service road.  The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and was questioned and released.  No charges have been filed in this incident.

The investigation is continuing.
