July 14, 2014 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a male found at 1001 Pinemont about noon on Saturday (July 12).

The victim's identity and cause of death are pending an examination by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers S. Straughter and T. Tyler reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to complaints of a foul odor coming from a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex at the above address. Upon arrival, the officers learned the vehicle was involved in a missing person case reported to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Further investigation led to the discovery of the deceased victim in the trunk of the vehicle.

HPD homicide investigators notified the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office of the discovery. The two agencies will cooperatively work the investigation.
