January 17, 2014 - uston police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man and the sexual assault of a woman in the 7900 block of Ellinger Lane about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 16).
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 170 pounds with a thin build. The composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 35, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The adult female victim was treated at an area hospital and released.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Parker and Senior Police Officer S. Straughter reported:
The victims had just returned home and were unloading their vehicle in the garage when they were suddenly approached by an unknown suspect who demanded their money. The couple was then forced inside their residence at gunpoint where the male resident was shot and the female sexually assaulted. The suspect then fled in the couple's vehicle and abandoned it about 50 feet away from the garage.
