January 10, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10900 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 2:20 a.m. today (Jan. 10).  

The male victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer S. Martinez reported:  

The driver of a silver Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound on the East Freeway and suddenly saw a male crossing the mainlanes of the freeway. The driver was unable to avoid him and the victim was fatally struck. The driver was questioned and released with no charges filed in the accident.
