February 24, 2014 - A man critically injured in a hit-and-run traffic accident at 3600 Burkett about 9:40 p.m. on February 1 has died.
The identity of the man, 40, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The victim was walking in the roadway on Burkett near Berry Road when he was struck by a silver Nissan Rogue. The driver left the scene without rendering aid. The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Saturday (Feb. 22).
Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the wanted driver is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
