February 11, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8500 Richmond about 2 a.m. today.

The male victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer M. Reyes reported:

The victim was crossing the street at the intersection of Richmond and Dunvale when he was struck by an unknown vehicle, possibly a black or dark-colored sport utility vehicle.The vehicle fled the scene and did not stop to help the victim, who died at the scene.
