Update: Composite Sketch of Suspect in Fatal Shooting at 3498 Rockyridge
February 4, 2014 - Houston police homicide investigators have released a composite sketch are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 3400 Rockyridge about 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 21.
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a skinny build. He was unshaven and wearing a zip-up style turquoise coat, blue jeans and black shoes. He was last seen getting into what is believed to be a gold-colored mid-sized sport utility vehicle.
A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.
The victim, Merlyn Yolibeth Perez-Orellana, 24, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants E. Cisneros and W. Meeler reported:
Ms. Perez-Orellana was walking north along the sidewalk at the above address when an unknown male suspect approached and shot her multiple times. The suspect was last seen running west on Pagewood from Rockyridge.
