Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8400 Nairn
December 29, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8400 Nairn about 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 20.
The suspect, Josue Soto (H/m, 18) is charged with capital murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Alejandro Motil, 49, of the above address, who was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. A photo of suspect Soto is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Officers T. Miller and J. Saldana reported:
Mr. Motil was outside his apartment with his family when he was approached by two armed, unknown male suspects dressed in black. Mr. Motil initally gave the suspects his wallet, but then attempted to get it back. As he attempted to get his wallet back, the suspect(s) shot Motil. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.
Further investigation identified Soto as a suspect in this case and on Tuesday (December 23), he was taken into custody.
