December 8, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3900 Sherwood Lane about 6:25 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 7).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 26, of Houston, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Perrotte reported:

The victim was driving a green Ford Mustang eastbound on Sherwood Lane when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and then flipped. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
