December 1, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1100 North Sam Houston Parkway service road about 7:15 p.m. on Sunday (November 30).

The female victim, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant W. Shields and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a gray Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on the North Sam Houston Parkway service road when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway.The vehicle struck the right curb, went to the left across three lanes of traffic, went over the left curb, and then struck the freeway wall.The victim died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
