April 21, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10000 Almeda Genoa about 9 p.m. last Friday (April 18).
The female victim, 79, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer L. Galvan reported:
The victim was driving a white Toyota Camry westbound on Almeda Genoa when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered out of its lane and struck a traffic signal pole. The victim was then taken to the hospital where she died. No other persons were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.
It is believed the victim may have suffered a medical condition that caused the accident.
The investigation is continuing.
