September 30, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6100 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 28).  

The male victim, 24, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer J. Leon reported:

The driver of a gold Honda Accord was exiting the Southwest Freeway when the victim ran across her lane of traffic on the service road, causing her to strike him.  The driver remained at the scene and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.  There are no charges in this incident.
