September 13, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2700 block of Fountainview about 6 a.m. today (Sept. 13).  

The male victim, 27, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Park and Officer D. Hussain reported:  

The driver of a tractor trailer truck was driving westbound in the 5700 block of Westheimer and turned into the northbound lanes of Fountainview.  The victim was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk westbound on Westheimer, failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the tractor trailer.  The victim was then taken to the hospital where he died.  

The investigation is continuing.
