September 12, 2013 - Houston police are investgating a fatal traffic accident at 1500 North Loop (North Interstate Highway 610) about 12:10 p.m. today (Sept. 12).

The male victim, 74, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer D. Kizzee reported:

The victim was driving a blue Ford Explorer eastbound on the North Loop when he took the ramp to the North Freeway.  The vehicle then left the roadway, hit the guardrail and struck some bushes.  A witness reported the victim appeared to be unconcious immediately before the accident occured.  There were no other persons nor vehicles involved in this accident.
