September 06, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6800 Long Drive about 8 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 5).  

The male victim, 22, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer J. Ortiz reported:  

According to witnesses, the victim was operating a black Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle at a high rate of speed eastbound on Long Drive.  The motorcyclist failed to yield the right of way and struck the passenger side of a black Isuzu Rodeo that had the green light and turned left onto Chaffin Street. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.  The driver of the Isuzu, who did not show signs of impairment, was questioned and released at the scene.
