September 04, 2013 - A suspect wanted and charged in the fatal shooting of a woman at 8510 Almeda Genoa about 6:45 p.m. last Friday (Aug. 30) has been arrested.
The suspect, Obed Joseph Rodriguez (H/m, DOB: 5-8-93), was taken into custody on Tuesday (Sept. 3) without incident. He is charged with capital murder in the 176th State District Court in the killing of Yolanda Yepez Lara, 37, of Pasadena. An unknown male suspect, also wanted for his involvement in the incident, remains at large.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. French and Officers D. Fontenot, E. Zugner and J. Saldana reported:
Two Hispanic male suspects entered the Monroe Game Room at the above address after the security guard opened the door to the business. Both suspects immediately produced pistols, forced the security guard to the ground and began to rob the business. They ordered customers and employees to the ground. During the robbery, one of the suspects fatally shot Ms. Lara, an employee of the game room. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Further investigation identified Rodriguez as the suspect who shot Lara. He was taken into custody by the HPD Westside Patrol Division Tactical Unit and members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
