September 03, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental fatal shooting of a man at 9206 Nyssa about 12:10 a.m. last Saturday (Aug. 31).

The deceased male is identified as Erick Reyes, 18, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Triplett and Senior Police Officer T. Miller reported:

Several friends were at a gathering at the above address and one male had a gun.  At some point, witnesses said it accidentally discharged and struck Mr. Reyes.  He was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed.  The investigation is continuing.
