September 03, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 15850 Export Plaza Drive about 1 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 2).

The identity of the male, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Services.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Officer I. Duplechain reported:

The male, a citizen of Mozambique, was a detainee of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a facility at the above address, managed by the Corrections Corporation of America.  Guards at the facility found the male unresponsive during a routine check.  Medical personnel attempted to revive the male, but he was later pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results on the male's cause of death.  The investigation is continuing.
