Houston Police Department
UPDATE: Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested

November 18, 2013 - A suspect charged and wanted in the sexual assault of a juvenile has been taken into custody.

The suspect, Forrest Wayne (w/m, DOB: 2-23-72), was taken into custody over the weekend by police officials in Thailand.  Wayne is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child in the 351st State District Court.

A previous photo of Wayne is attached to this news release.

HPD Juvenile Division Sergeant L. White and Officer M. Burroughs reported:

In July, Wayne befriended the 13-year-old female victim while he was working as a fitness instructor.  He used text messages and phone calls to start a relationship with the girl.  That relationship led to Forrest engaging in multiple sexual encounters with the victim at a hotel located in the 9500 block of the Katy Freeway.

Further information obtained by investigators determined Wayne was in a health food store in the southeast Asian country of Thailand to make a purchase when an employee became suspicious of him.  The employee entered Wayne's information into an Internet search engine and found he was wanted in the sexual assault of a juvenile.  The employee immediately called Thailand police and Wayne was taken into custody.  It is unclear at this time when Wayne will be extradited back to Houston.

Investigators are not available for interviews at this time on this case.
