November 12, 2013 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 100 Casa Grande about 1:50 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 10).  

The suspect, Juan Jimenez (H/m, DOB: 7-26-89), is charged with capital murder in the 183rd State District Court.

The victim, 22, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Officer V. McLean reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a call regarding shots fired at an apartment complex at the above address.  Officers arrived and found HFD emergency personnel extinguishing a fire in a nearby unit at the complex.  Officers saw a male security guard (victim) who appeared to have been shot lying in the roadway    HFD then transported the victim to the hospital where he died.  Witnesses reported seeing several males running from the nearby fire and hearing gunshots.  

Further investigation identified Jimenez as the suspect in this case.  He was arrested today (Nov. 12) without incident and subsequently charged.
