November 12, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 100 Casa Grande about 1:50 a.m. on Sunday (Nov. 10).  

The victim, 22, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Officer V. McLean reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a call regarding shots fired at an apartment complex the above address.  Officers arrived and found HFD emergency personnel extinguishing a fire in a nearby unit at the complex.  Officers saw a male security guard (victim) who appeared to have been shot lying in the roadway    HFD then transported the victim to the hospital where he died.  Witnesses reported seeing several males running from the nearby fire and hearing gunshots.
