November 8, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6600 block of Irvington Boulevard about 9:15 p.m. on Thursday (Nov. 7).
The male victim, 58, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The female victim, 49, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The identities of both are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer M. Reyes reported:
The driver of a red Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Irvington when the vehicle went airborne after crossing a railroad track. The driver lost control of the Tahoe after it landed on the roadway. The Tahoe then crossed the median and struck a telephone pole. The driver and passenger, who were not wearing seat belts, were taken to hospitals and later died.
