November 1, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7800 Boone Road about 8:10 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 31).  

The female victim, 5, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer S. Coke reported:  

A group of children and adults were trick-or-treating in the 7800 block of Boone Road when the victim stepped into the street and was struck by a green Chevrolet Venture traveling northbound on Boone.  The victim was transported to the hospital.  The male driver of the Venture, 65, was questioned and released.  

Further investigation determined the driver did not show signs of intoxication.
