May 31, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1600 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610) about 9:50 p.m. on Thursday (May 30). 

The male victim, 46, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer B. Collins reported: 

The driver of a white Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling westbound on the North Loop when he struck the rear of a silver Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital where he died.  The female passenger in the Chevrolet was also transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Ford, who was determined not to be impaired, was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. 

No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
