May 16, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 11700 block of the Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 11:30 a.m. today (May 16). 

The male victim, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Senior Police Officer S. Boone reported: 

According to witnesses, the victim was operating a Suzuki motorcycle at a high rate of speed and erratically changing lanes in the 11700 block of the Southwest Freeway.  The victim then struck the rear of a gold Chevrolet pickup truck, lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle.  He died at the scene. 

There are no indications the driver of the pickup was impaired and no charges will be filed.
