May 7, 2013 - Houston police have released surveillance video in the investigation into the fatal shooting of a man at 10910 Gulf Freeway #195 about 1:30 a.m. last Saturday (May 4).
The victim, Evans Butler, 25, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers B. Evans and T. Miller reported:
An unknown male suspect kicked in the front door of an apartment at the Cabo San Lucas Apartment complex at the above address. Once inside, the suspect demanded money from Mr. Butler. When Butler did not comply, he was shot. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect is described only as a black male.
Surveillance video obtained shows a dark colored Dodge Charger and an unknown white four-door vehicle pull into the apartment complex parking lot. The vehicles then go out of camera range, possibly parking in the street. A short time later, a tall black male is seen coming from the area of the victim's apartment and skipping through the parking lot in the direction of the vehicles.
