May 7, 2013 - The fatal shooting of a male theft suspect at 4514 Langley Road about 3:45 p.m. on Monday (May 6) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. 

The suspect, J. B. Garrett (b/m, DOB: 2-12-47), was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The male shooter, 63, was not injured in the incident. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Officer D. Fontenot reported: 

The owner of a wooded area of land fatally shot and Garrett as he trespassed and attempted to steal the land owner's property.  Investigators recovered a hammer and other burglary instruments from Garrett's possession.
