March 22, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10800 South Post Oak Road about 1:25 p.m. on Thursday (March 21).

The male victim, Jerry Lee Letchford Bradshaw, 45, of Houston, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Divsion Sergeant J. Ogden and Officer C. Tosso reported:

A dump truck was traveling northbound in the right lane on South Post Oak Road and approaching Willowbend.  Mr. Bradshaw, a pedestrian, was at a bus stop on the east side of the street.  The driver of the dump truck received a green light and continued traveling north on South Post Oak.  At that time, Bradshaw, not in a crosswalk, stepped from the sidewalk into the street, directly into the path of the dump truck.  He was struck and transported to the hospital where he died.

There were no signs of intoxication on the driver of the dump truck and he was released. 

The investigation is continuing.
