June 26, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 3900 Bellaire Boulevard about 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday (June 25).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Usher and Officer S. Kong reported:

A Southside Police Department officer contacted HPD officers for assistance in investigating a fatal traffic accident at the above location.

A blue dump truck was traveling north on Stella Link with a green light and turning east onto Bellaire Boulevard when the truck struck a male pedestrian who had stepped out in front of the truck. The pedestrian was attempting to walk westbound against the light. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
