June 19, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the near-drowning of a juvenile at 5600 Court Road about 8:20 p.m. on Monday (June 17).

The six-year-old female was transported to Texas Children's Hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer M. Khan and Officer T. Ferguson reported:

HPD patrol officers and HFD emergency personnel responded to a possible drowning call at Blue Ridge Park at the above address. Officers were told the child was with her foster family and then wandered away. She was later found in a pond a short distance from the splash pad. She was then taken to the hospital.

The investigaton is continuing.
