July 29, 2013 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident in the 9700 block of West Bellfort about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday (Juy 28).
George Arthur Marion, III (b/m, DOB:3-27-94) is charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in the 339th State District Court. A photo of Marion is attached to this news release.
The victim's identity, 19, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer K. Hines reported:
Marion was driving a silver Nissan Maxima westbound on West Bellfort at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, went into the median and struck a pipe on the bridge. The vehicle then flew across the bayou and into the culvert. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger, 20, was transported to Memorial Herman Hospital in an unknown condition.
No other vehicles were involved in this incident.
