July 22, 2013 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3941 Almeda Genoa about 1:50 a.m. on July 18.
The suspect, Jamon Derrell Walker (b/m, DOB: 1-26-90), is charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Gerald Lynn Johnson, 54, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers X. Avilla and J. Sosa reported:
Mr. Johnson was discovered deceased in a church parking lot at the above address. A possible suspect vehicle observed leaving the scene was described as a black Mercedes-Benz with Texas license plates 439XDN. The vehicle has a non-functioning passenger side headlight.
Further investigation led to the identity of Walker as the suspect in this case and, on Friday (July 19), he was arrested without incident while driving Johnson's vehicle, the Mercedes. The motive in the shooting was robbery.
