July 18, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3941 Almeda Genoa about 1:50 a.m. today (July 18).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers X. Avilla and J. Sosa reported:

The victim was discovered deceased in a church parking lot at the above address.  A possible suspect vehicle observed leaving the scene is described as a black Mercedes-Benz with Texas license plates 439XDN.  The vehicle has a non-functioning passenger side headlight.
