July 15, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10400 Westheimer about 2:25 a.m. on Saturday (July 13).

The female victim, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer M. Reyes reported:

The driver of a gold Izuzu Ascender SUV was traveling westbound on Westheimer.  As the Ascender's driver turned left onto Rogerdale with a green light, the driver of a green Izuzu Amigo, traveling eastbound on Westheimer, ran the red light and struck the Ascender.  The Amigo rolled over, killing its driver.  The driver of the Ascender was not injured.  No other persons were involved in the accident.
