January 11, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5400 Birdwood about 11:25 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 10). 

The identity of the victim, 29, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Stahlin and M. Brady reported: 

A neighbor heard gunshots, went to investigate, and found the victim deceased inside her vehicle.  Witnesses reported seeing a black sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe, leaving the area at a high rate of speed shortly after the gunshots were heard. 

At this time, there are no known suspects.
