January 7, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident at 5i50 Buffalo Speedway about 4:25 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 5).

The identity of the female victim, 78, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer T. Dougherty reported:

The female victim was walking in the parking lot at the above address when she was struck by a Lexus RX330 attempting to pull into a parking space.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.  Witnesses reported the driver of the Lexus, who remained at the scene, was an elderly female.

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
